Ashton Winger used an off weekend for the World of Outlaws and made the trip north to race with the MARS Series and it paid off with a $5,000 payday. Jake Little finished runner up for his best career series finish. Former MARS champion Tony Jackson Jr finished third to round out the podium finish.
31 cars took time with Jason Feger stopping the clock the quickest. He would also go on to win his heat race along with Duty, Jackson Jr. and Guy Taylor.
The starting lineup was decided by passing points after a problem with the transponder scoring loop. It was voted on by the drivers.
Feger would lead the field to green but did not lead a lap with outside front row starter Winger taking the lead that he would not relinquish.
Winger, in their own Fusion Race Car, earned the first win in the Jeff Matthews Motorsports chassis.
The series will travel to Fairbury tonight for another $5,000 to win feature. All MARS Series races can be seen live on FloRacing
