Superman Soars to Hillbilly Victory Lane Gaining Momentum For World 100

Jonathan Davenport claimed his second career Hillbilly Hundred win after taking the lead from Daulton Wilson on lap 17 and never looked back cruising to the $30,000 payday. Daulton Wilson had a strong Labor Day weekend finishing 2nd to back his 3rd place run on Saturday night at Porsmouth Raceway Park and lost an engine just 7 laps from the finish Friday night missing out on a $10,000 victory. Brandon Overton finished 3rd to round out the Big River Steel podium finish.
34 cars would try their luck at the West Virgina Bullring and after qualifying Daulton Wilson would take the top time honors and go on to win his heat race to put him on the pole for the 100 lap main event. Other heat race winners were Davenport,Roberson,and Overton. The B mains went to Braeden Dillinger and Colton Burdette. Tyler Erb and Ross Robinson would fill the final spots taking series provisionals.
The win was Davenport's 72nd Series win and giving him some momentum going into one of his favorite tracks Eldora Speedway. The top 4 Lucas Oil drivers will have an extra incentive at The World 100 with this year's Dirt Track World Championship will be held there this year to crown the 2023 Lucas Oil Series champion.
Point leader Ricky Thornton Jr. would take home the 4th spot for another top 5 run as he continues to have a dream season. Hudson O'Neal,who sits 2nd in the standings, rounded out the top 5 in the Rocket Chassis house car.
The series will be idled until September 14th when they travel to Knoxville,Iowa for the Knoxville Nationals. The 3 day race weekend kicks off on a Thursday after The World 100.
