Pierce Cruises to 30th Win in 2023

Bobby Pierce notched his 30th win this season going around the Hudson O’Neal and Garrett Smith to lead lap 19 and cruised to nearly 2 and a half second win over Dennis Erb Jr. Shannon Babb , who started 11th , would round out the FloRacing Night In America podium with his 3rd place finish.
31 Late Models were on hand for the Tuesday night mini-series race with Dennis Erb winning qualifying. Tanner English beat the fast qualifier in the first heat race to start on the pole of the $23,023 to win 50 lap race. Garrett Smith and Kyle Bronson would take the other 2 heat race wins with Tim McCreadie taking the last chance win. Ryan Gustin was the fastest in hot laps but unfortunately had a hole punched through his oil pan ending his night prematurely. Gordy Gundaker also had to load up early as he lost a motor.
Tanner English , fresh off his 25th to 5th World 100 , would jump out to the early race lead and would hold it until the defending Dirt Track World Championship winner Garrett Smith took over.
Lap 17 restart is when things got interesting as Hudson O’Neal bicycled going into turn 4 making contact with the leader Smith. Going back to the opposite end of the track Smith got into O'Neal and Pierce seen this as an opportunity to take advantage and he pounced on the opportunity.
After the contact neither O’Neal or Smith's car were the same and faded from contention. Smith pulled in early as O'Neal stayed on track to finish 11th. O'Neal trails Pierce in the season standings by 9 points.
The next series event will be held on September 27th at Tyler County Speedway as Pierce will look for his 5th career series win and O'Neal will look to gain points for the Championship
