Devin Moran has been fast and so close to winning at Brownstown the last few years and last night the Dresden Ohio driver finally got that elusive Brownstown Speedway win. Moran and Bobby Pierce battled each other through lapped traffic swapping the lead a couple of times with Devin holding off Pierce by a few car lengths at the line. Mike Marlar rounded out the Lucas Oil podium with Max Blair and point leader Thornton Jr rounding out the top five.
48 cars signed in for the $15,000 to win Indiana Icebreaker with Michael Chilton taking top time honors. Heat race wins went to Moran , Tim McCreadie, Brandon Sheppard, and Marlar. B Mains went to former track champion Devin Gilpin and Josh Rice.
A lot of story lines were present going into this race weekend. This was the first race for Moran and Pierce after their suspensions from Volusia. Ironically those two drivers finished one - two after the 50 lap main event to help put the failed tire test behind for each driver and team.
This was also the first race with Hudson O’Neal out of the Rocket 1 and Tim McCreadie in the Rocket Chassis house car. O'Neal is running the Kevin Rumley owned Longhorn Chassis that T-Mac and others have jumped into the last couple of years. The Rumley - O'Neal deal is only for the weekend as the 2023 Lucas Oil Champion continues to search for a ride and stay near the top of the points. O'Neal would finish 6th at his hometrack.
Tim McCreadie would find instant success going out winning his heat race before fading in the feature for an 11th place finish. TMac , Mark , and the crew will look for a better result tonight as they travel to Atomic Speedway for the Friday postponed $12,000 to win event.
As always every Lucas Oil race can be seen on FloRacing
