Nick Hoffman picked up win number four on the World of Outlaws tour but it wasn't a popular one for the "Thrill from Mooresville" Hoffman slid Tyler Bruening on lap three with Bruening getting crossed up blocking the track causing a huge pileup. Ryan Gustin ran second once again with Dennis Erb Jr taking the final spot on the podium.
33 Late Models were signed in with Tyler Bruening taking top time honors. Heat race winners were Bruening, Hoffman,Chris Simpson, and Tim McCreadie. Bruening would draw the pole for the feature.
In the feature they would have the "Big One" on lap three after a restart. Hoffman slid Bruening in turn 4 causing Bruening to get sideways blocking the track. Tim McCreadie ,who was battling with Pierce for third, hit Bruening then the pack behind them starting piling up. Pierce ended up rolling over in the melee. Ethan Dotson suffered major damage along with several others. Pretty much the top ten were all involved ending the night for several drivers.
After the 15 minute cleanup the green would wave again with Hoffman pretty much cruising to the night two preliminary win. The Gopher 50 format is drivers earning points in the first two nights of racing for Saturday's main event that pays $50,000 to the winner.
Nick would later say in victory lane that he hated it for the other guys that got tore up and do whatever he can to make it better to help them get their stuff fixed. He didn't comment further on the move and said there's not much he can say to plead his case.
The weekend concludes tonight at Deer Creek. If you can't be there in person as always all of the WoO events are live on DIRTVision
