Ryan Gustin finally found his way to Davenport Speedway victory lane last night leading all but the opening lap of the feature. It was his first career Summer Nationals win as he beat fast qualifier Jake Timm by nearly three seconds. Winger and the Erb's (Tyler and Dennis) rounded out the top five.
33 Late Models made the trip to Davenport,IA with heat races going to Timm,Hanger,Gustin, and Winger.
Officials went into hurry up mode to ensure the fans and teams that they would get the show in. They were successful in getting the program in and got done at an early time.
Gustin said in victory lane he has lost a few races due to various reasons and it felt good to finally get that win in his home state. It was his third win of the year and his first win since March.
Ashton Winger rebounded from his rollover the previous night at Wilmot with a third place finish. Last week's point champion Jason Feger had a rough points night after losing a tire regulating him to 18th place finish.
Gustin leads the week 2 points heading into tonight's race at Quincy.
